THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE

       At IV Future, we build reliable, custom software solutions designed to solve real business challenges. As a Senior SQL Server DBA, you will play a key role in designing, provisioning, and securing the database infrastructure that powers our clients’ digital transformation.

       You will lead the end-to-end installation and optimization of SQL Server environments on Azure VMs, ensuring industry-standard configuration and enterprise-grade performance. You will collaborate closely with our infrastructure partners and development teams to translate business requirements into high-performance, secure data solutions. This role requires a hands-on, solutions-oriented professional with a deep understanding of SQL engine internals and a proactive mindset toward security and scalability.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Installation & Provisioning: Execute enterprise-level SQL Server installations on Azure VMs, including drive provisioning for data, logs, and tempdb to minimize I/O contention.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize memory allocation (Max Server Memory, LPIM) and parallelism settings (MAXDOP, Cost Threshold) tailored to specific VM proportions.
• Security Hardening: Implement rigorous security protocols, surface area reduction, and datafile growth parameters to ensure stability and compliance.
• Maintenance & Reliability: Design and manage automated maintenance plans (stats, indexes) and robust backup routines to Azure Blob Storage.
• Advanced Connectivity: Configure and secure Linked Servers and handle SQL Server Replication to support distributed data requirements.
• Collaboration: Participate in technical discussions regarding application architecture and performance issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.

KEY SKILLS YOU NEED

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Production SQL Server DBA, with significant focus on SQL Server 2019/2022 Enterprise.
• Expertise in Azure IaaS: Practical experience with Azure VM storage optimization (Premium SSD/Ultra Disk), SQL IaaS Agent Extension, and Azure Networking.
• High Availability: Proven track record of configuring Always On Availability Groups and Disaster Recovery strategies.
• Automation: Strong proficiency in PowerShell and dbatools for standardized instance provisioning.
• Core Fundamentals: Solid understanding of memory pressure management, disk throttling in cloud environments, and execution plan analysis.
